English language learners are invited to join library staff and community members in the library meeting room for conversation and cultural exchange.
At 6:45 p.m., in the spirit of Mortenson’s book, a speaker from Habitat For Humanity will talk about building houses locally. All members of the public are welcome. Tea and light refreshments using recipes from Pakistan and Afghanistan will be served.
This program is part of the 2009 Timberland Reads Together program: “Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace… One School at a Time” by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin.
This event ends after the library closes at 7 p.m. Arrive before the program if you wish to check out library materials.
